My name is Amanda Allen and I am the Parent Support Worker at Bacon’s College. I have a teenage son and live in Rotherhithe. I worked with the school when my son attended Bacon’s and whilst at a Walking with Adolescent evening the speaker said “parents need support too.” From this the College decided to do a pilot scheme to see if there was a need for a parent to be more involved with the school and asked me if I would be interested to being a part of this.
Since working alongside the school I have spoken to many parents and feedback your comments to the Senior Management Team who are really interested in parent’s points of view. We now hold many more events to involve parents in school life and to get to know you and hope that you as parents and carers feel the college is approachable.
I will be holding many more events over the forthcoming academic year and will be updating the parents section of the website with everything we are doing.
